Brake Bleeding

No bandaid jokes please

Anybody know how to depressurize the ABS system so I can bleed the brakes? My XT is stopping much better than the SVX is now.

Do a search on a recent thread started by Rob (Chicane) and there's a link to PDF copies of the manual (sorry can't remember which forum member was kind enough to put them on his server). The file is almost a megabyte in size so I hope you have a high speed connection.

Anyway, I think the answer is that the bleeding sequence starts out with bleeding the two spots on the ABS unit itself first before going to the wheels.

As an aside, I am "blessed" with a pretty low wattage bulb inside my head. I wondered about the deteriorating performance of my brakes right up to the point that the right front rubber hose started spewing out brake fluid every time I stepped on the brake pedal. Hopefully you have more common sense than me and have already considered the age of your lines.

There are two bleeder valves on the ABS box under the hood that you have to use. Let me know if the referenced thread still doesn't do it for you = I'll get the '92 shop manual out of my car's trunk and type in the bleeding sequence.
