security system

I bought a new remote for my svx off of ebay it was brand new in the package so I know nothing is wrong with it but the system in my car I think doesn't work I tryed everything... is there any fuses or something? Where it the system located?... I don't even get the beeping noise when the doors are open or anything, the security light won't even light up can anyone help me out

Do a search. This is a pretty common problem. You probably need a new security module.

The battery could be dead even though it is brand new. Remember that the parts could have been sitting on the shelf for quite some time.

The simple way of checking out the battery or batteries would be to go to Radio Shack. They will check out the battery and if it is dead, they have them there.

its not the remote at all... its my security system it won't go into program mode i tried like a hundred times it don't beep or anything when i even turn it on and get out of my car... could it be unpluged or something, i hear a beep every so often, where is the security module located?

Are you making sure your are starting with the security switch in the OFF position? Also, and I don't mean to insult your intelligence (because I've done it myself), make sure the door is closed when you're going through the procedure. I've actually gotten ticked because the car wouldn't go into program mode, and there I sit with one foot in the driveway. You have to have all doors and trunk securely closed.

In the 92's/93's the module is behind the glove box. In the 94 and later, the module is on the underneath side of the rear parcel deck, accessible by taking off the inner trunk trim.

ok i tried that it still won't work....how do I get to that do i remove the glove box I have a 92....haha the button is gonna brake soon i keep pushing it so much so there is no fuse or anything
