Power window problem
Has anyone experienced the following?
I hit the "auto-up" on the driver-side door window. Once it was up I hear a loud POP....thereafter when hitting the switch I hear the motor operate but nothing is happening with the window, it's like it's come loose. Thank goodness it's stuck in the "up" position. If anyone can point me in the right direction as far as a fix for this I'd appreciate it.

OK....after some archive searching my old buddy svxter helped out.....
The likely culprit is called a Sleev Lock Reg #62101PA081 $7.95 at subaruparts.com

Keep in mind the window is now free to move. May slip down without you desiring it to do so. I used a "precision" cut peice of wood to hold mine until the part arrived.

Well....I haven't "opened up" the patient yet....
From the posts in the archives I've read it doesn't SOUND like an intimidating project - I'm assuming this sleev lock reg or whatever attaches to the window glass in some way. Can anybody give me the procedure? So far haven't located one in the archives...still looking tho....

not too tough a job
The job is straightforward, make sure you remove all the screws holding the door panel, gently pry the "snaps" off, unhook the electrical connections, etc.
The clip fits (snaps, actually) into a rectangular slot in the metal bracket that the bottom of the glass is attached to: you'll need to cycle the motor a bit in order for the metal "knob" on the cable to be in the general vicinity of this slot, usually about 1/2 way up (or down, if you prefer). I think ARDUBJAY had the procedures in his locker at one time. Good luck!

Happened to me
It took me a while to figure out what happened, but mine got stuck in the down position. I stuck it together with duct tape to hold it up. The guy at my dealer said he had to order me a whole new assembly (that part's not listed in the 92' diagram) but I got the number off a 96' diagram. I think it was like $12. The dealer said he'd never heard of one breaking before....hmmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........
I tell you, I have got a damn treasure chest of knowledge on the power window problem....HUGE thanks to all of you.
Still waiting for the parts to come. One thing I noticed is that I don't seem to have any problem with the window staying up in the meantime....ummm, is THAT a problem?? That is to say, I've driven the car a lot, even TRIED to get the window to slide down by hand - it feels pretty SECURE. Just trying to find something to worry about I guess....
