Another link

And a link from Queensland.

You might try ringing some of these, you could get a heater core from a front cut.

Rescue

Hello all,

I have been wandering this site for 4 months and found the info here extremely helpful. I aquired a 92 LSL and have been using this site to slowly piece her back together. Here is th story. A guy I knew that worked with me got orders to Florida, lucky guy he escaped South Dakota. well anywho he had an 92 LSL rotting away in his back yard. I asked what he wanted to do with it he said he did not know. the car runs strong and is mechanically sound. However the exterior has some hail damage and the interior is in really bad condition. I told him I would give him a hundred bucks for it....jokingly. He said ok. So I scored and SVX for $100.00. Now she needs alot of work.....alot of work. But this is all body work. So on my off time I pretty much dedicate myself to her. I threw on some cheap 17" rims and tires to limp her home to my house. Her stock tires were pretty much done. So now she sits in my garage slowly coming back to life. I will update this site with pictures as I make progress. Here are some pics of her in her current state;

Nice to have you with us.

Even with the body damage, you have the basis of a lovely car for a hundred bucks. Keep up the good work and if you need some information, just ask, we'll do our best to help.

Joe

Hey guys.

As some of you already know, my name is Jake Wagg. I do not own an SVX, but have always thought they were unique. I'm actually really big Z32 fan (90-96 Nissan 300ZX). I used to frequent the Auto crosses, drag strips and track events, but since the Air Force has me going all over the world so much now I figured I would use what spare time I had to build up my engine. Overall goal is to have 700 whp on a race tune and 550+ whp for the street.
I like to talk about the performance aspect of sports cars and how to modify engines to get them to produce more power, so if anyone has any ideas about modifications, I'll be glad to chime in with my 2 cents.

HOKU,
Welcome. You got quite a buy for the $100! Now you can afford to spend a lot to get in top shape. I assume the body is solid? No rust? If so, great. You will enjoy this site - lots of good info and people here are more than willing to help on "how-to's" as well as parts. Be sure to check out ebay as well for "Subaru SVX" related items. There is always something there for SVXi.

Again, welcome, and ENJOY the car - I know you will.
Harry

New Again

Hello,
My name is Aaron and I am happy to say I'm back. I was inactive and my account was deleted, my last post was 9/02 formerly ARUN. I did visit the site while my 92 Pearl SVX LS-L was resting in my garage in need of repairs for the last 4yrs, I currently have 117,000 miles on her. The good news is I have only 7000 miles on a brand new trans. w/external cooler, I changed the fluids, rear bearings, brakes, P.S. high pressure hoses and purchased a new battery and she fired right up and purred silently, quieter then my new 2007 Pearl Avalon Touring. I will never give up on her, everything seems fine but minor problems I'll fix myself : rocker cover gaskets, new tires, recharge air and she's road ready. (lol) My wife is supportive but thinks I'm crazy, I just love my SVX and glad to be back up and running.

Patience

Thanks Harry,
I am glad to be back and I learned so much just by being still and reading the experiences of the blessed SVX owners. The how to, tech, and the sharing of info is great, this is truly a great site to help extend the life of these great cars. Hopefully one day they will get there due respect.
