Some people may treat them as toys, but most Porsches really were designed to be used as cars. CJ |

you said make it into a 'serious racecar'. Serious racecar to me means no interior, and extremely stiff springs, etc etc etc. That isn't a daily driver.
And no, the SVX isn't a toy to me. ITs my car. :P - Ca$h |

i have to get involved in this one.
i have taken my svx to a road course and it was fun to drive. but there is no doubt i would pick up any porsche over the svx at the drop of a dime. the fit and finish of the porsche is what sets it apart. the car is a finished product that was built to run hard. there are no weak trannies or gearboxes. porsches are designed to be driven hard. that is what you paying for, reliable performance.
i took my svx to the track and did 35 laps on a road course. afterwards i had to replace my cv axles and my cam and crank shaft seals. there are guys in the porsche club here locally that may do that once a year after more than 10 similiar events.

You must have been tearing it up at the course! I went to a road track. Car was perfectly fine, except half my brake fluid had spilled out the top
Fixed my squealing brakes for a week. (super hard braking really smooths the rotors out i guess) Of course a month or two later, my driver side bushing mysteriously cracked and disappeared I probably did about half the laps you did though. Wasn't really counting.
