Damn Waterpump

Okay so I found the problem with the smoke under the hood. Turns out it was my water pump. Damn was that thing hard to get out. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew what a new water pump should cost me and where I can go and get it with out having to wait 6 days for it?

Checker wants $140 for it and another $70 for the timing belt.
And if I was to order it today it will take untill the 12th to get here.

Does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,
Subaruparts.com has the pump for 52.46. Next day air shipping is 17.50 for a grand total of 69.96. Timing belt is 74.96, and 2nd day air shipping adds a couple of bucks. So, for a total of 127.42, you can have the pump and timing belt , 2nd day aired from subaruparts.com. You might try calling Scott to make sure they have the parts in stock.

Chris,
When I did the timing belt I followed advice and replaced the water pump. I used a rebuilt by Cardone #571391, $24.95 from Rockauto.com. Use a Subaru timing belt, the other belt makers don't mark all three places on the belt like Subaru does. The rebuilt pump was embossed with the Fuji Heavy Inds logo just like the one I took off the car. What condition is the metal gasket in? The rebuilt pump came with a paper gasket, I coated it with RTV and put it between the pump and metal gasket.........no leaks. Good luck

Thanks

Thanks

For all the help. I the price is great and I love how quick I can get the parts. God knows I want to drive my baby again. I haven't driven her in a week now, and I can't go much long with out taking her for a ride.

And the metal gasket is in really good shape.

Thanks again
Chris
