Seen this one before? Dropping resistor

For the last couple of weeks I've been driving around with a 500 ohm load in place of the stock dropping resistor (actually it's two 1K-Ohm, 1 watt resistors used in parallel - purchased from Radio Shack - $1.19 for 2).

My original failed and I've played around with none, and values of 10, 15, 30, 60, and 500. Note: 1K-Ohm still produces the dreaded blinking power light - at least on my car.

The car responds very much like no resistor (which I personally like), but since the power light isn't blinking on start-up, it doesn't hide the presence of any other codes that may be lurking.

That value also seems to have gotten rid of the hunting that used to be there with no resistor present, and at no/low throttle when holding the tranny in 3rd.

Of course YMMV, but I'm going to stick here for awhile and will report back if I encounter any problems.

I like it. Very good modification. The shift is too harsh in my car with the resistor disconnected. So it's not for me. But I will remember this for if I want to increase the ohms again.
