Improving headlights

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I wanted to upgrade my headlights to those super bright headlights that burn at 5500k. I wanted to know if there is a good site that sells the kits at fair price. I know many people have upgraded them, so if you could give me your insight on what you think I should get that would be greatly appreciated.

Those stock halogens just aren't good enough for dark roads

Re: Improving headlights

I bought my 6000K HID kit from Tom (svxfiles) 4 years ago and have been exceedingly happy with it. It was $200, but very well spent.

Re: Improving headlights

Ddmtuning has budget oriented kits. There is a thread with some various options with some installation pictures. I think there is a link to it in my signature.

In 4 years I have not had anyone flash me while using my 5000K Low beams. maybe clear pristine headlight lenses keep the light focused better and not scattered.

However, when I turn on my 5000K fog lights, I get flashed more frequently; not because of glare but drivers assume that four headlights mean my high beams are on.

A quick flash of my PIAA 120W Super Extreme high beams set them straight!

And in bad snowy winter weather, driving at night with only fog lights (headlights disconnected) I never get flashed.
