Joking pays off

I was at work yesterday and a guy I work with had just got a new Dodge truck. He use to drive a '92 Stealth. I found out that he had messed up the engine. Jokingly I said he should brop a junk yard engine in it and take it motor-cross racing with me. He looked at me and said if I hauled it away I could have it. So now I have a 92 Stealth with a 5-speed. Anyone know where I can get an engine. I figure I cant beat the price even if it needs a new engine. It could be just as simple as a bad water pump. All he knows is it has a major antifreeze leak at the front of the engine. I think I'll take my time fixing it up and use it for my daily driver and save some abuse on the SVX.

HaHa...looks like you scored unless he ran it without water... I bought a $500 car with a bad engine once and it turned out to be a bad oil pump!!!

Even if it needs a whole new engine it was a deal. I paid 0 dollars. I gave him a black plastic cargo box and a tow strap that I've had for about 10 years. I think they cost me about $30 back then.

Good luck with the engine. Is it turbo?

They really stuff those engines in there. Seems like less room than ours.

If it's the lamo model and Caravan 3.0L should fit. Just get ready for a smoke show from bad valve seals. Good deal thoe hopefully you can get it together cheaply and use that wile the SVX is in prodject stages.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Sorry Kelli RED ain't going nowhere. I may drive the stealth for a while to save the SVX some where and tear. I may sell it (the Stealth) for 2 or 3 grand later.

I bought a 88 RX-7 off a guy who said the motor was toast for 500 bucks, it had 0 dents, great paint, and was really clean. After putting new plugs and new wires on it. And gas, I found out he had ran it out of gas. Which would support his story that "It just wouldnt start one day"

Goes to show, stupidity pays off too...
