need a fast, free mp3 ripper..
i need a good utility to pull audio off of cd's and convert it to mp3's.. i'm using dBpowerAMP right now.. something like that.. it took 36 minutes to rip a full cd at 128kpbs.. seems a little slow to me.. anyone have any good leads?

iTunes.
Or N2mp3. Both are quality programs that I couldn't live without. - Rob |

dBPowerAmp never took longer than 10-12min for me to rip a full CD to 196kb/sec (I don't mess around - 128 sounds like crap) using LAME.

I always used windows media player 9. But my computer might be faster than yours, i dunno, but my specs are 1.2 ghz P3,512MB PC-133 SDRAM, Geforce3 Ti200 64MB DDR Vid card. Or maybe its the cd drive your ripping it off of. You can pick up a 56x for like 40 bucks these days, or you could get a nice CD-RW, that has a high Read/Write Speed.
