How easy is it

How easy is it to change the spark plugs on the SVX. my car just hit the 85k miles and I want to replace them when it hit 90k. Also what brand should I replace it with?

It ain't a killer but it aint no piece of cake either. I've posted a how-to both here and in the Yahoo forum. Do a search and it'll tell you a little bit about it -- at least from my point of view and my personal experience.

Oh, and of course, you know me. "Stick with stock," which gives you two choices: NGK PFR6G11 or Nippondenso PK20PR11 Both are platinum. And DON'T use neversieze.

many four letter words and smashed knuckles later my buddy and I got ours done.

Also from what I understand with the platinum they come set to the right gap and not to mess with it as that can mess up the platinum!

What's the downside of neversieze? How important is a universal for the rachet?

As for the universal for the ratchet, it isn't what I'd call "important" but, I can certainly see where it would be helpful.

I pulled out the fender and body plugs on the passenger side, right side, and to my surprize the extension did not go through. Then I realize, I could get the plug without going through the holes. Oh man. I thought my car was drilled wrong. As someone else said, not bad with the right combination of extensions.
RJ thanks for the tip during the Reading meet. The nail puller works great to get the coil off the plug.

I am glad I did not mess with the gap. I would not want to flake off the platinum.

Yeah, I use a 3" and a 6" plus a swivel head socket wrench. When the guy suggested (the same guy with the advice on the neverseize, above) the "nail puller," I thought to myself, "that's a bit extreme, isn't it?" but, it worked like a charm, didn't it?
