To those with a 2-3 Tranny flare under light load
As svx_commuter has stated before, the 2-3 tranny flare under light load can be attributed to a bad TPS. A resolution is to keep the RPMs at at least 2k when the 2-3 shift is to take place. Also, I've noticed that having the Manual button depressed while the gear lever is in 2 or 3 alters the shift map and causes the 2-3 shift to happen earlier, or causes the tranny to remain in 3rd gear under lower speeds. Using this technique will do a 2-3 shift at lower speed, and can also keep the RPMs from jumping under light acceleration. I use this when accelerating downhill.

How would one check to see if the TPS is out of adjustment, or bad?

If you really want to know if it's bad, see the method in my locker.
 Most people don't want to to do this test causes it takes too long. If got more than 100k on the TPS it may be a good time to get a new one.
