Yes, the instructions were a little vague, I got it right on the first try though. A quick search here would have yielded a bunch of posts on this and even a few pictures and instructions on the installation.

This thread in particular - with a handy picture made by Alan - would have made it crystal clear. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...ight=shift+kit

Yes, that is obvious.

EXACTLY. Which one is center???

Here is the layout:

.......0

Which one would define as 'center'? To me, the center one would be INBETWEEN two other connectors.

Plug connectors to the outer two.
Which is exactly what I did. I plugged htem into the OUTER two lugs, the one BETWEEN the two lugs, I did not plug into. THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCORRECT.

what is so hard about that? trade in your Mac for a Commodore.
Yes, maybe you PC users are used to incorrect instructions. Anyway, here's my point:

Who is in the CENTER? I would say the dude with the cello. Why? Because he's BETWEEN the other two. But the instructions CLEARLY state to use the "outer two" and to "Not use the center".

They are incorrect.

OUTER: Meaing outside of the group
TWO: Meaning group of two.

Please explain how the **** you the can tell which one is center? Look at the trio pic. That's the way the connectors are set up. Which one is center? Yep. According to hte instructinos, you DO NOT USE THE CENTER....but in reality, you DO use the center connector.

i really don't understand the confusion. like i said, i feel the most difficult concept is the cutting of the wire and adding the connectors to each cut end.

Bottom line: The instructions "could have been clearer". And pic / diagram (like Alan's) is worth a 1,000 words of explanation! At least Rob got instructions with his kit. I did not, but Earl was kind enough to send them to me and then Alan sent his diagram. Then Matt pointed me to a pic of his in his locker. No problem after that.

This is what this site is all about - helping people out with a unique automobile!
