Actually, Lee, I won't pay more taxes. As many people in high tax states, I pay a huge tax premium each year through our friend the Alternative Minimum Tax. Under this tax, you lose your deductions for mortgage interest and state and local taxes and pay a flat 28% rate on all income over a certain level. With NJ and NY state tax rates, and local NJ property taxes, I would have to make over $700k a year, before the pre-Bush high bracket marginal tax rates would cost me more than does the AMT.
Remember, the only tax hike that is being discussed is the roll-back of the Bush tax cuts that cut marginal rates for the very highest bracket incomes and for the largest corporations. I think that very few if any people on this network would get a tax hike from returning these marginal tax rates to their pre-Bush levels.
