Best fuel pump without modification?
I browsed RockAuto to see what choices on fuel pumps and I would like one that requires no modification.
I see Beck/Arnley, Airtex, Carter, and Delphi...any good choices there? Same question with fuel pressure regulators...I would assume to choose the one with the subaru part number in parenthesis to be OEM. Thanks, |

Re: Best fuel pump without modification?
Walburo makes good pumps and should have one that doesn't require modification.
On the fuel pressure regulator... Why are you wanting to change it? Stock one is broken or going to forced induction? |

I thought walboro needed mod...I do not want to mod.
I think regulator is acting funny, but I'm not laughing. |

Or find someone local with a spare. Not trying to push selling something since it's not something fun to package up. Just trying to let you know that its the better option. |

Re: Best fuel pump without modification?
Nate, just trying to diagnose my bogging issue that I have a seperate post on. I've read people have problems with fuel pump or regulator which will make the car feel like it's dying while accelerator pushed. So I'm not sure which part I need. I'm hesitant to put any used fuel related parts on the car. Yes I know subaru parts new are expensive, hence my post now.
Regulator new is about 100....pump expensive that's why I listed options above. |

Re: Best fuel pump without modification?
Understandable. I'm not usually paying enough attention to realize people have other posts/threads on a similar subject which is why sometimes it is best to only post 1 thread, even if it crosses a couple different possibilities if it's trying to tackle a single issue. Keeps things more clear.
Have you tried changing the fuel filter, any codes? sorry if this is covered in your other thread. Bogging is usually caused by some type of inproper reading which is causing the ECU to either lean out the mixture too much, or more likely, richen it too much. If it's the sensor/ECU side of things causing the issue. Edit: Just read through your other thread. Try checking your TPS and coolant temp sensor. Does this issue pop up within the first 15 min of starting the car or is it there all the time? If it's there all the time, it would point more toward the TPS, or otherwise you're going to need to double check your vacuum lines. Last edited by 1986nate; 07-12-2011 at 11:36 AM. |
