The Solution
Summit Racing makes universal low-restriction precats (but not low restriction to the point where they'll make my o2 sensors freak out and throw codes). So instead of paying $450 for the OEM part, I paid Summit Racing $155 for two precats to be shipped to my house (hey, I figure if one developed a hole, the other won't be far behind - they should arrive tomorrow) - and another $100-120 for the Meineke dude to sawzall the old ones off, then weld the new ones on.
So instead of $450 + installation, I'm paying around $250-275 - plus I'll have a more free-flowing exhaust. |

Wow - the exhaust sounds NICE at full throttle without a leak!
Of course...now I'm also being told that I need rear rotors and front tires before it'll pass inspection. The rotors I was expecting, but the tires.... |
