Unhappy Well, uhm, I mean . . .

Heheheh. I meant to say it looked like a two-door Lambourghini. (As opposed to all those four-door Lambo's runnin' around.) Yeah. That's it. And, uh, that I DIDN'T want the spoiler because it looked to Intrepid-ish?

friends?

Question

An Intrepid? Are you kidding? No way, unless they're boobs. An Intrepid, that's, that's, well, that's just plain sick!

Email/website?

I was just wondering what the website for Japan Direct Service is.

I am, at the moment, trying to buy the same tail section from a Japanese (wrecked) SVX in a import yard in Adelaide...without sounding too enthusiastic lest they jack the price up!!!

And....I still don't have an SVX!!! Eventually, I will have collected enough parts to build my own :-) Although I am going to inspect one tomorrow.. *crossing fingers*

Them's Fightin' Words!

Had an elderly gentleman, while watching through the carwash window, ask me the question, "What is that . . ." and before I could answer, he added, "A Dodge?" In my mind, I was thinking, "That's probably what you should do, after asking me that question." But, seeing how he was elderly and probably only familiar with the "big three," and an Indiana Farmer (no slam against farmers, I were one), I just said, "no, that's a Subaru -- believe it or not." "It was hard to tell with that emblem on the front." He said (I have the Japanese Alcyone hood badge). He continued, "I was kinda wondering, 'cause I'd never seen one with windas like that." " Yes, it is a unique automobile," I said, smiling as I strode out the door.

Their website is www.mediawars.ne.jp/~kemkem/index.html[/url] He is very helpful and a seemingly nice person from the emails between us. He is very prompt in returning them.

Whew! I'm glad to get that confusion settled. I was afraid we might have to send out the Association's enforcers.

Thumbs up To spoil or not to spoil?

I agree 101% with joeeaux. All these spoilers ruin the look, the lines, the flow of the car. Cars are mobile sculpture when designed by a master. If the lines flow, likely the aerodynamics will also.

Circuit racers use a lot of spoiler area to increase downforce usually. They give their best at speeds of over 100mph. Let's face it, most of us spend our time behind the wheel at speeds less than this. You can also be sure Giugiaro designed that lip on the bootlid to give the car all the spoiler it needs right up to the maximum.

SVX is a rear heavy car, visually. It has rear drive mechanicals, over that the fuel tank and spare wheel well, above that, the boot and bootlid. Before you add a spoiler, this car already has a fat butt!! If you absolutely have to add a spoiler, the Japanese import with the centre lowered at least addresses one fault for me, clear vision directly behind the interior mirror. But could you live with your buddies joking about the customised handles for two people to push the car???

Cool AFTPOSAGSBCTTI

Sing me up for that club too! Poor Daemon's going through enough right now being held hostage by the dealership, it doesn't need more self-esteem-lowering thoughts. ;-)

Cool

Speaking of "heavy looking butt". The man designed it that way. The bulges over the rear wheels are one of his ideas. He still designs cars with it. It's supposed to give you a visual idea of power. If you ask, it works. Just look at his other cars with it (and look how it's been copied by many other auto designers).

Hah! Further proof that I'm a "butt man!" (Gosh, I'm sure glad my wife don't read these boards!).
