Window buffers

When I bought my '95 it had the tell-tale lines down the drivers door glass indicating worn glass buffers.
I have the door panel off to repair a few broken screw mounts, and thought I would fix this at the same time.
Couldn't find a part number for the bit in my manual.
Anybody give me a part 'no
Or sell me the bit Just the clip-in plastic with the felt on it.

Also can the lines be polished out of the glass?

regards and thanks

You can get just the plastic part from Subaru - they are all the same. If I recall correctly they run $8 a piece .

Re: Window buffers

If your fingernail can catch a bit in the scratch, you won't find the aftermarket kits will help. BTW, hook&loop ribbon (my wife found me some at a sewing store) comes in 3/4" and 1" wide form. The fuzzy side works pretty nicely replacing the OEM scraper when attached with a good quality glue.

Re: Window buffers

I was able to clean my existing ones. I just rubbed a drywall screw against the grain of the felt. All kinds of crap came out, sand and heavy dust debris. I hear glass places can buff the scratches out but like faster act said if your nail catches it's deep. I heard it will still come out, it just depends how much glass distortion you're willing to live with.
