Exhaust Donuts

My exhaust is leaking . The front 2 and one rear gasket on the CAT are falling apart. Do I need to replace every thing? ( Springs ,bolts , flanges and of course gaskets ) to do this repair. Where is the best place to get SVX parts?

Re: Exhaust Donuts

Hopefully your flanges are still OK, but you'll need new bolts, nuts and the donuts. You can reuse the springs, but the bolts most like will need to be cut.
I ordered mine from https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html

Re: Exhaust Donuts

If you know someone with dies, have the bolts re-threaded. Worked great for mine and saves a few bucks.

Exhaust Donuts

Where can I get parts for this. Looks I will need new springs ,bolts nuts and gaskets for front 2 and 1 rear of the CAT....on my 1992
Car parts store say they can't get any of this stuff. Is there a cross ref to another Subarru? Or another Car.

Re: Exhaust Donuts

We are cutting them off. Rusted beyond repair. Springs may be savable.

Re: Exhaust Donuts

Subaruparts.com

part number 8 on diagram-Exhaust gasket (2) 15.90 each part #44022PA021

part number 15 on diagram Bolt (4) 2.98 each part #44059AA010

part number 16 on diagram Springs (4) 6.90 each part #44028PA000

part number 17 on diagram Nut (4) 0.53 each part #902350004

This is for the spring bolt setup for the front of the 2-1 cat. If there's anything else you need, subaruparts.com has excellent diagrams to see parts. Just create an account with your email and password and don't worry, they do not spam.

For the rear of the 2-1 cat
part number 10 on diagram Exhaust Gasket (1) 16.84 part #44022PA031 and you will need 2 each of the spring/bolt/nut from above

Re: Exhaust Donuts

From the homepage go to the Subaru tab. Then go to 'Browse our OEM Part catalog' near the top, go down to '2) Part Lookup' and there is a svx link.

I merged the two threads together. There were two posts that were the same.

Re: Exhaust Donuts

If you had a good donut you could take it to like napa and have them try to mach it for you. or bring the cat with you and measer the out side of the pipe that the donut sits on. I think I am using ones from napa on my car. I mite even have the part number. I'll look when I get home.

Also I have tryed the spring and bolt kit for a impreza/legacy from napa, they don't fit. I am just using bolts from the hardware store and springs from the impreza/legacy kit.

Re: Exhaust Donuts

Next question: Why springs anyway. Was planing on getting stainless nuts and bolts at a hardware store. What size? Length and dia. etc do I need ? they look 5/16 -18 to me and about 2 1/2" to 3" long. Found donuts at Parts America but only front one $16.00 each
