Pearl Harbor Day Dec. 7

Please give thanks to all our veterans on this day. As having visiting the Arizona Memorial several times while growing up in Hawaii it always moved me to tears. Also today seen 7 new army Hummers with our proud troops going thru town today with them smiling and enjoying what it means to be a American....free. Coincidence.... I think not

Yes, think about what it means to be free and remember those who have kept us that way.

I spent that day at the 'wake' for a WWII vet that passed last week.
We buried him with Full Military Honors at the Vets cemetary yesterday.

Right now, the only Vet I know from WWII is my Mother-in-law!

All the others are gone.

She came to visit about 9 years ago and has never left!

Since she is 89 years young, I don't think I will evict her!

She tells me frequently "I am glad 'we' married you!"..

I tell her that I wish her daughter shared the sentiment...

Thank GOD for our Vets!!

A story that my Dad used to tell was how he and Mom were sitting in the car making plans to get married when the news came over the radio. He got orders to report to base RFN!! So the wedding was off. He got 'leave' for 24 hours on Christmas Eve, so they got married that day! He shipped out on Christmas day.
