Thunderbird SC. Factory supercharged, 325lb-ft of torque, RWD, IRS, very easy to make them carve corners extremely well, and as long as the headgaskets are done, it will be as reliable as the day is long. If you find one with blown headgaskets and a trashed interior, you can probably pick it up for $300. Replace the head gaskets and use studs instead of bolts, and MLS gaskets. Also make sure to get one with a 5-speed as there is no way the AOD will make it 12 hours of beating on it. Try to get an 89 or 90 as they have the stiffest sway bars. Cut one coil off all 4 springs, and make sure all the bushings in the suspension are good, and get some weight off it, and it will outhandle everything else on the track.

I've spent some time in a Volvo 740 turbo
 and it wasn't much for corners  I like the turbo idea, will this be on a road track or a circle track? Circle track I'd focus on power, road track I'd focus on handling...and I'd drive a BMW e30
