How do you clear TCU trouble codes?
I have a couple of "Previous problem" codes and want to clear them.

Re: How do you clear TCU trouble codes?
When I looked around to find out the same for my '92, I found a note in the manual that said they couldn't be cleared - that they were stored as part of the memory.
Found it interesting, but don't know if it applies to all models, or only early ones. Tania.

Re: How do you clear TCU trouble codes?
Quote:
Disconnect the Negative Cable on your Battery. Turn on your ignition, and turn on the Headlights. This will take only a moment to clear any residual voltage being held in any circuit in the car. Re-Connect the battery cable, and all codes should clear. I expect the TCU will take a day, or more to produce a code, since it does this by watching the overall characteristics of how the car is running.

Re: How do you clear TCU trouble codes?
The TCU codes can be cleared by pulling fuse No. 14 marked AT in the fuse box under the dash. Middle row, end fuse nearest the door. Leave out for 1 minute
Harvey.

Re: How do you clear TCU trouble codes?
Wish I could remeber where I read it. Didn't make much sense to me either cause codes would build up. I thought maybe they'd cycle through over time - last in first out, kinda deal.
How many codes can the TCU store in 'past problems'? Will it only show one as 'existing'? I'm still trying to understand the relationship between existing and previous.
