Bought a 1992, some questions...

I just picked up a green 1992 LSL with 95K miles for cheap. I need to replace the solenoid C as it does the bind routine as described on the forum. I will also need to do brakes and maybe rotors all the way around as well. Driver seat front/back does not work either and i have read of some common fixes for that too. I need to take a look at the tranny cooler/screen issue as well. I do have some questions though:

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy the solenoid C?

Where is the best place to buy brake rotors/pads?

Thanks!

Congratz on the purchase You'll love it as we all do on here. As far as the Solenoid C and Rotors I am not sure but someone will chime in and tell

congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site. As for the brakes and rotors I would contact svxfiles. He has a good set for i think 375+shipping.

Yeah it may be expensive, but it includes everything you need. Dimpled/Slotted/Plated rotors all around, stainless steel lines, and better pads. It's a pretty good setup, I just bought but need to install.

Would you rather stop and pay $375 for a full set of brakes with new lines?? Or not and crash your $400 car??you would be out $400 if that happened or out $375 and still have the $400 investment... the math points to svxfiles... he might be able to help you find a good sol. C as well

+1 for svxfiles. He's a vendor of raceconcepts brakes (among other things)

Essentially, the rotors, pads, and lines he sells as a complete kit are VERY good for improving overall brake feel, and preventing the rotors from getting all wonky

the solonoid C, I imagine is a deealer only part. It's IN the transmission, so unless yur doing the work yourself, it could end up getting a little pricey

Either way, at that mileage, the car is going to be an absolute blast to drive, even if you need to put 1,000$ or so into initial start up costs, you'll still be WELL under par for the price of an svx with double the mileage

Oh yeah, welcome to the site
