I heard on the radio this morn. that possble tornado touched down in Ellicott City last night and destroyed some houses.

Thanks for your concern, Larry. Aside from some post-storm high winds all night long that mandated use of the kerosene lamps, all's well. The actual tornado, if it was one, damaged houses & launched big trees about a mile north of me, very close to the, "Sorry, we're closed", Crab Shanty restaurant. For some reason the Delmarva area's become Little Kansas in the past two years.
It's funny though, when I hear those radio warnings of "seek cover" etc. my impulse is to jump into the SVX & haul a$$ in another direction, which I actually did last year when the funnel cloud hit the University of MD campus & was on a beeline north toward my neighborhood. "Mother nature, take the house, but leave the batmobile for another day"!

I can't add much to Ron's observations. When the hail started I made a beeline to the nearest covered filling station/quick mart in Ellicott City to wait it out. Once the hail stopped I made a dash for home and put the car in the covered barn.

In our 100 year old farmhouse have a storm cellar for possible tornadoes and I wasn't too worried.
However the barn where the Pearlie was parked is surrounded by very big (fragile)oak and linden trees. I could only imagine one of them crashing through the roof of the barn and...
