The ones on my car were definately not molded to the outer lens because when i took them off, one of the amber reflectors was loose from the previous crappy glue job.

Are you people blind? Seriously!

You can't say they look good or bad, because he didn't finish! There is NO OUTER LENSE ON THIS. It just has the inner diffuser inside. That's it. It's NOT fully assembled, and it's missing the main part, the actual LENSE.

I think its pretty obvious that there is no outer lense in that picture. However, if you looked at the first Four pictures of this thread, you would notice that the outer lense is shown in all of them. These are the pictures that i was referring to when i made the statement about them not looking like stock lenses.

94subiesvx, thanks for the pictures. I can say that they definately look better than they did before. I'm still curious about the lenses. Not sure if they could be the smallcar lenses, because i think the amber lense is usually removed. Maybe someone installed the small car lenses and decided they wanted to keep the amber lenses also, and just glued them in. Anyway, looks good. Sorry if i was nagging at you for pictures.

Question

Hi 94SubieSVX!
Did your outer lenses look like this, in the area of the orange reflector?

In this picture I had already taken it apart, but just did a mock up to show the difference of stock vs. clear.

And seeing the pic that prosesengr posted I'm taking back what I said about it being stock. Because the lenses Don't have the DOT symbol on them, which I was looking for but couldn't find. It never crossed my mind that they could be the small car lenses. The pics of them finished look like crap IMO, but after I get my car inspected tomorrow I'm gonna wax the $h!t outta the car and take some better pics.

The nagging's fine, I like the attention

The amber reflector is held in a closed-bottom pocket in the outer lens. The reflector isn't flat, either... the two fit together kind of like an inverted lidded box. The reflector is glued in - not around the outside, just on the edge opposite of the reflector's face.

I got most of this one out through sheer violence. I'm sure heat or chemicals would do the job better. The amber you see around the edges along the side and top are what's left after all the prying I did.

Great pic, It gives me a clearer point of view when everyone's saying my corners weren't stock to begin with. From what it looks like I'm guessing you're trying to make clear corners with your stock lenses or are you getting the Smallcar kit?

The first thing is that it's an exploration of why we can't do clear corners like the rest of our Subaru family. After that, it's just an attempt to see if there are options short of using the Smallcar kit, in order that the stock lenses can be retained. I only got started on this last night as a result of seeing this thread come around again... don't wait for me!

Did you hot-glue them on? What's all the gunk near the edges? Looks good from far though.
