Thumbs up New 2008 Impreza... it's the legend!!!

Here ya go... Subaru unveiled the 2008 impreza and its looks same as we have seen some "in development" pics and some spy photos of new impreza....

More pics in here

Tail pipe has been moved to the right like all other japanese cars.... till now they had them on to the left on all their models. The rear end glass panel reminds me of all other suvs on road especially Lexus R series.... hmmm whts going on in Subaru after it has relationship with Toyota.... No more brembos... I wonder if they have them on STi at least.... may be toyota is palying games for the downfall of Subaru and make it merge with it so that they can utilize Subaru technology to even better their market.... (like Greg Chappell did to Indian cricket team after he took over the coaching position).

I admit, it has some nice lines.

But I still have to say "What an ugly butt".
Oh well. Somebody must love em.
And it is a Subaru, so it's guaranteed to run almost indefinately.

I am thinking more like a revolution in Subaru designing, but this just reflects a copy of bits and pieces from all other companies... maybe the technology is unique, but its the exterior which gets ones attention. Why dont Subaru be a unique designer and come up with new ideas like Alfa Romeo .

I am mixed about this. The front end is not that bad and will probably grow on me. The tail end looks like a hybrid of a focus, a lexus r class, and a squished b9. At least they kept a sedan option. However, they absolutely butchered the tailights that come on it. If I was out of school, working and in the market for a new car I would def NOT take this new WRX. I would get either an 05STi, an 07STi limited or an 07 LGT Spec B. Subaru designers get a ++++ for 03-07 (i know some weren't fans of the bug eyes at first)

actually change that a little. In my current life situation what I said above I would do. If I had a wife and kids and she needed something to transport them around in then I would consider it.

Actually those front end grille is goin to be on all 08 Subaru models which have been redesigned except legacy (thank god for that, they didn't mess up with the only good looking legacy). Maybe at present the only models that are going to be liked by "everyone" would be forester, legacy.

the WRX never had Brembos - only the STI. if i remember right, the stock brakes on my LGT are Tokico's, so i would guess the WRX ones are, too.

Correct. The '06-'07 WRX just had Subaru 4 pot/2 pot brakes f&r. They aren't anymore effective than the sliding 2 pots calipers, but the extra pistons do improve pedal feel.

It was mentioned on NASIOC that the '08 Impreza WRX will get the entire LGT braking system - so while that means a return to the 2 pot calipers, the front rotors should also be up-sized to 12.3"!!!

the giant pads / rotors on the LGT brakes make them much better than the 4-pots, but you need to replace the crappy stock pads and tires to get them to really snap your neck.
