Which Would Win In A Fight?

Although this has long been an idea of mine for a fantastic television show (pit random things against each other in a fight purely for the purpose of seeing who would win. Contestants would include a whale vs. a shark, three grasshoppers vs. a frog, me vs. a bunch of attractive women, etc.) I just finished having an argument with my roommate about the new Mistubishi Eclipses. I personally think they're worthless, but he seems to think pretty highly of them. He also seems to think that if he was in one, he could beat my SVX in a race. I did a little looking.. the biggest engine you can buy a new Eclipse with is a 3 liter 200hp V6. I wasn't able to find out mow much one weighed though.. I just didn't feel like looking anymore. Any thoughts on which would win in a fight?

I think it would depend on the length of the race. I'm sure the Eclipse comes with a manual transmission which would help it in the short race as well I'm sure it's lighter without the added weight of AWD. The SVX will definately overtake it though. What I don't know is how long it would take for the SVX to catch up.

I know, for sure, if you're rolling, the Eclipse is a goner. Just ask the guy who drove leisurly past me while I was talking to the nice State Trooper who stopped me going 86 in a 65 after blowing past the Eclipse Spider. Luckily, I had slowed down . . . a bit.

Happy ending: The Trooper only gave me a warning.

rolling or standing still. I raced a 01 or 02 ( they look the same to me) eclipse gt on saturday night, he beat me off the line, but it was over at 40mph (me in front!). Then on Sunday I talked to my friend about them (he had a 01 gt w/ the triptronic) and he said they do high 15's low 16's stock (1/4 mile). So go kick some mitsubishi butt

I think someone has a thing for horses...at least for horseshoes to be able to get away with 86 in a 65 and just a warning.

I have seen that too but I wonder how well they will work given our titanium coated windshield. Not to mention if (when) I buy something like this I dont want to have to quickly take it off the window every time I run through a speed trap or get pulled over. Much easier to go with a remote install, now if I could just find one that I can afford....

I've got an Eclipse in the shop right now and it has the same engine as a Neon. Not much to brag about there, except how fast it can leak oil from the back of the head gasket.

If it were a Killer Whale up against a Whale Shark I'd say the Orca would win.

My 96 Eclipse RS had a 420a in it. Was fairly torquey with a crisp response. Never had any troubles with mine except for brakes.

If you were a cop, and your radar/laser gun went: 55 - 59 - 62 - 54 - 67 - 0 - 63 - 56 - . . . who would you pull over?

Jammers sound nice in theory, but . . .

If its a 25 zone they are all getting tickets
Actually as I understand the various systems they cause the laser/radar guns to display an error message, which could be the result of several things other than a jammer. If he gets a zero then he has probably just clocked a tree (I know there is precendent).

If I were a cop and the gun flashed a 36-22-34 I know who I'd pull over.
