A bump....

Well, it's all done!!! Check my new post, but I finally finished and have the first one on my car right now.

I'll have a new webpage of my own setup within a couple days and I'll get the link up here, but for now, just email me at severedperf@chartermi.net if you are interested/have questions/etc...

Humungous thanks to everyone who helped, waited patiently, and gave the much needed moral support to get me through this project. We now have our results for which again I thank you all!!!

There's pictures up here for right now:

I will probably ship them with the foglamp holes closed off. I am concerned that leaving them open may blast open the splash guard at the bottom of the fenderwells if you do not have a place for the air to go. If you had the holes rigged up to a ram air setup, then no problem, or if you had an outlet hole in your splash guards then you'd probably be OK.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to R&D some of this stuff soon.

You'll be easily able to cut the holes open yourself with a hacksaw or cutoff wheel.

The center opening will be cutout, ready for the grill material to be attached after painting.

The bumper will bolt up to factory mounting holes, so no drilling or such nonsense will be required. All attachment hardware, you will already have or it will be provided by me.

center opening....

If you are cutting out the center, are you planning on
doing it at the most rear portion of the cover..?
Also......to help secure the mesh, think its possible to
install some bendable metal tabs around the outside
but hidden inside to hold it in..? If youre not sure what I
mean......email me and Ill send you a pic of what I get
from other companys......thanks Steve.

Re: center opening....

Where it is cut in the picture is about as far back as you can go due to the Impact beam. Otherwise you'd have to bend the mesh. I know what you mean about the metal tabs, and yes there will be something similar around all the openings.

Stevesby,

Through the magic of Photoshop I took the liberty of adjusting the color value of your finished bumper to match your existing paint to give a more realistic impression of what you can expect. I hope you approve.

Thumbs up

Looks good to me! I should have a genuine colored part on there by the end of the week, but I don't imagine it'll look much different than that

Thanks

beautiful work!

i will wait till the rush clears to place my order.

my design opinion,
looking at the head-on shot, the 97 grill will be a must in combo.
the pre 97 center piece conflicts with the design, something about the geometry is off.

stevesby,

do you have a biz/production name? -or is this just for sport?

At this point I am 're-opening' my order taking department

If interested, please contact me at severedperf@chartermi.net

The price is $500 + shipping. This will be for a white gel coat finish bumper, ready for your body shop to prime and paint. For new orders, I'd like a $200 deposit to get you on the production schedule, and then collect the balance before shipping. I can accept credit cards through paypal, or money orders work too.

---------
Thanks for the compliments

I also think the 97 grill would look a lot better. I may look into making a new upper grill as a next project as soon as I can move a few of these bumpers off my to do list.

Also, I realize that the grill is not exactly centered up in the picture, but that is only because it was attached with only 2 bolts for that shot. Production parts will be centered much better.

Shortly, I will be marketing these under my new business name, but I'll wait to launch that until I get the web site setup, etc... I'm going to have to sell quite a few to recoop the costs/time that went into this thing but I still think it was worth it in the end, as it looks 100% better than the stock one (in my own highly biassed opinion of course )

Steve

I added a modified '97 type grille to the image. I bit larger opening for cooling in case to the lower opening is blocked by a mandatory front plate.

I've added a plate to the image also. This is probably as bad as it would ever look.

Ohhh, functional ram air in the SVX. This is a very intriging proposition. Hey steve do you think you could email me the exact dimensions of the fog light cut outs. I am interested in thsi ram air idea and would like to look into house hook up etc. Maybe I can figure something out. Thanks.

thanks svxcess

svxcess, thanks for the digital work, looks great, you must be a silent partner.
Much more friendly to the eye.

stevebsy,
the reason i ask on production name-
i as you may know am a art dealer, but do have a vinyl (decal) cutter here at the gallery, and am able to now cut any illustrator designed decal. this could be a great compliment, those whom wish and respect the work, can display it in a tasteful location. however you would need a tasteful name, along with design.

the service is here if needed, svxcess could probably work up a tasteful logo.

I'd be up for ATTEMPTING to create a tasteful logo. Lemme know. Bumper looks good. I gotta keep the cash in my account though.

I know this is bringing up a way old thread, but I have a question. The dimples for the fog lights on the bumper. Where they designed for a specific fog light?
