Just reassure him that "....one day this could pay off for us."

He's sounds sweet, I know how that is with watching your kids do things you don't agree with or see it not benefiting them in any way.

But ya know, I was young too once. We first must live to learn.

Go with the Alien thing Danny.

Can you afford to rent a neighbor's garage? Do you have any elderly neighbors who wouldn't mind having them parked in their driveway. Mabey in exchange for yardwork. No one says you have to keep them home. P.S. I didn't know you had an MK1, let's see some pics of that bad boy!

no, no, Danny, I think you misunderstood me. I was saying to show him the dealership prices of the Windshield and body panels. Use that as leverage to justify owning 4 SVXi. It would be a lot cheaper for ya. And you don't have to spend tons of money at the dealership.

In my country buildings are not the same as in the States. They are either Villas or multi stories buildings. We never make wooden houses. So behind our building (we live in the 5th floor) there is a big open parking lot where all cars are there. You can go easily to the balcony and see them... Maybe I can hide one car at my best friend's house, which is a little far from mine. But I don't think he wants a parts car near his house.

I do have an MK1, I am somehow not driving it at the moment, because its engine is burning oil...

He already knows the parts prices, one more SVX for parts is acceptable, but oh God, 4????????

That's what I am going to do. But I still want to burn the price down on those other two. the third's price is reasonable. As for my dad, I think I am gonna have some issues for a short period with him... but what can I do, a passion for these cars is inevitable

Here it is, but needs a new engine and some minor bodywork. Check out the rear fenders (widened) and the the design of the lower metal sheet below the rear bumper... The guys over here are installing VR6's engines and GTi 16V engines into this baby. Most of them are dying of course I was reasonable enough to stop this project, but I used to drive this car while I was working on my SVX bodykit.

Very nice dub Danny, I wish mine was as rust free as yours. They are great little cars to have while trying to afford SVX maintenance. I put a diesel in mine so I can burn veggie oil. There are some old pics of it in my locker before the conversion. If I had the choice tho I'd have more SVXii, I hate wasting brain space on another vehicle. It's easier to focus on one type of car and I feel like any money spent on the rabbit "Golf for the foreigners" is SVX infidelity

I was thinking about the damage to your car and thought about this.
