Post EG33 Impreza RS!

Just posted this evening on NASIOC:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...7#post12156167

The tuner XX Tuning in East Hartford, CT put this super Impreza together, and the car made 210whp and 212 wtq on a dynapack. They plan on adding a blower in '06...

More pics can be found here:

Love the equal-length coated headers!!!!

I like it too... Kinda Pontiac WS6 but cooler! My guess is they converted to a MAP system. I asked him that question in the NASIOC thread...

I also love the detail they put into this project. They obviously professionally cleaned that engine, removed the center plastic cover over the IRIS system, but then painted it black again to keep the OE look.

From the equal length header pic on their site, the car has a manual trans in it (not sure if it's a 5 or 6 speed though). Using the 25% drivetrain loss most MT subarus see on the dyno, gives ~280hp at the crank.

I wonder if they did any camshaft work on the car?

Why are you asking us instead of them? J/K! but seriously, anything you find out about that intake or that ignition(SWEET!) post it up here and let us know. Now excuse me while I go clean up the mess I just made when I saw the pics of the engine

Follow the link I posted to the NASIOC thread and you'll see the barrage of questions I asked...

Haven't got any responses yet, but I'll definitely post back here.

I'm just lovin' that intake set-up!

That's a 5MT tranny. They have to be running a MAP sensor simply because there is no way to incorporate a MAF in that setup. Notice that the exhaust system is not a true dual. There is a y-pipe merging the two banks just behind the tranny. Also any notice the engine oil cooler on the passenger side of the engine bay where the factory air intake system would be located? It looks like they are using OEM SVX engine mounts. Kinda interesting. I'm also interested about whether they did cam work. Since the HP and TQ values are almost the same, I'm guessing that they didn't do cam work. When peak HP and TQ are the same, it usually means that the HP peak is around 5500 rpm.

Chike,
Thanks for posting this! I'll have to get over to the NAISOC site to see how they answer your questions. I'm particularly interested in what they've done with the ignition - they've obviously moved the coil packs out to the inner fenders.

This was the response to my questions...

We are using the stock EG33 cams, outside the motor the power mods we have is just the headers and ram air box.
