Rear Speaker Inserts

Aside from rattling like a SOB when you upgrade to competent speakers, is/was there a purpose for the small removable plastic inserts in the front of the back speaker grills? Looks like SOMETHING could go there.

**Got rid of the rattle by adding a little electrical tape to the insert "feet" before reinstalling.**

they cover the child seat safety anchors. i believe there were two sets that came with the car - ones that are a solid cover and ones that have an opening for child seat fasteners. mine don't rattle, though........at least not yet?

I think that you are right!

My 1996 has the "strap anchor" setup. A quick visit to my owner's manual would have told me that.

Thanks for your quick response!

Could be, try the electrical tape fix, crank it up and see if that does the trick!

If securing those little covers doesn't stop the rattle, check the tightness of the nut securing the rear strut to the upper strut piece. If that's even a little lose, it makes the most annoying and loud rattle, even on apparently smooth roads.
