knock sensor

I'm still a noob at this site and I dont have an owners manual Can someone please give me the directions, or steps to remove this part. I have seen the part at work and it looks like a single bolt holds it to the block, and one pigtale connector. I here location location is a PITA, please help and thank you in advance.

While were on the topic, do the knock sensors turn on the check engine lite when they go bad, or is there a symptom that tells you they might be bad?

Just wondering becouse I.v heard of problems with them but haven't had any my self, that I know of.
