Front lower control arm bushings

There is app 3mm axial clearance between the front lower control arm bushings and the frame mountings.... you can move the arm +/- 3mm front to back with a crow bar. The bushings seem to be ok, no tears.

I cut larger "washers" from 2mm thick rubber and just slid them in place - two each side between the "thrust" surface of the bushing and the frame.

First impressions are positive - I think I lost a thud type of sound when accelerating uphill on gravel road with uneven surface - feels more solid in pot holes and bumps too.

Anyone else tried this? Do the poly bushings have an effect on this?

Nice.

Currently mine feels sloppy lol. Like all the bushes are gone which I'd expect on a 20 year old car and it moves all over the road so need to get that sorted.
