Tranny swap

I currently have a 93 subaru impreza L fwd auto transmission, and a 97 subaru impreza L awd manual transmission. I don't know much about doing this but my uncle said if its possible he would do it. Is it possible to swap one of these into an svx (i would prefer the 97), or do i need a different one? thanks

Re: Tranny swap

If you have a AWD SVX I would say go ahead and use the AWD manual. You will need other parts, obviously, but any 5 speed mounted previously to an EJ will bolt up to an EG33. The search button will give you more detailed info, but for starters you will need:
pedals
flywheel
clutch
driveshaft lengthened, or a 95-99 legacy shaft
rear diff to match the center diff in your 5mt
shift linkage
brake booster (or modify yours)
starter
misc. other pieces (search)

If you are fwd, the autobox may work, IDK for sure. (sorry)
