Question about fitting dccd manual gbox to svx or etc..

if you were to get an dccd 5spd gearbox to fit in svx or etc how would yo go about making sure the dccd still works? i see some type r dccd come up for sale on our verson of ebay. do you just need gear box and switch or do you need alot more to make it work? like gear bx, controller, accuvators etc...
ive never had much to do with dccd gboxs so info is all new to me.
Thanxs

Yes Danny, the older Sti 5mt's had DCCD controllers as well.

You basically would need an aftermarket controller. I personally have built the Velliman controller that is very basic yet it works very well. There is no auto mode, just manual control.

A little bit out of the subject, what are the visible differences between a DCCD box and a non DCCD box (6 speed both)?

A non DCCD has a open center differential or a viscous limited slip... Basically, there is no control of the amount of slip that is allowed front-rear.... With the controller you can dial in just the right amount of lock to articulate over/understeer. Really helps when you are racing

I meant the looks of each box, if you were to see two in front of you, how you know that this one is with DCCD and the other without. Any tags on it?

no tags... but on the right side of the trans, the non-dccd will have what looks like a freeze plug... While the DCCD boxes have a wire harness comming out of the side.
