Help, I need a shop/mechanic in Eugene right now 12-5-07

I sprung a powersteering leak (flood really) this morning. I tightened all the clamps I could find, there is no fluid on the engine top, I fear it might be the rack. I need to get it fixed as soon as possible, as my backup car is having it's carb rebuilt. Anyone know someone in Eugene?

Don't know of any shops to help you out, but there is a power steering return hose on the passenger side of the engine which is prone to failure and has a tendency to leak on the exhaust.

I've seen threads on that. I tried to check it, it "appears" ok. Its a tight fit and I'm working alone. The fluid does seem to come from that general area. By the time I get from starting the car to under it, everything in that general region is dripping. My front diff dipstick doesnt like to stay sealed in its proper place (neither does my oil dipstick), but this is not gear oil smell this time. Plus my power steering empties each time I try to check the exact place for the leak.

If I just replace that hose, I can reuse the clamps and worst case be in the same position correct?

Yeah, it couldn't hurt.

I'd try to wipe everything down so it's nice and dry, then have someone watch the area while you turn on the car and it should be easy to spot where it's coming from.
