door fix needed

It appears that the spot welds securing my passenger door checker/holder thingy to the A-pillar/frame have broken. Youz guys that have had your SVXen all apart, any tips on the easiest fix. Through the kick panel? Must the fender come off? Or?? Thanks for the assistance.

First: Take door panel off
Second: Remove door
Third: Use JB Weld to attach metal
Forth: Reassemble

I'll swear up and down by JB Weld, that stuff is incredible. In the air force we had an ATV type thing that had a bucket back, for hauling rocks, tools, etc. The wheels were held onto an inner ring which was bolted to the axel by 5 spot welds The thing weighed 800lbs easily empty, plus 2 big people, plus full trailer, probably 1800 lbs. The spot welds broke on a wheel, and the one tech sergant was like hell, buy another wheel. i suggested jb weld and he said what the hell, so for 3$ we mixed it up and applied, gave it 24hr to set, and it worked perfectly.
