Thanks for the advice Randy. That's what I've been concerned about. I want to find some reliable person to work on the bearings. I know a couple of good mechanics who worked on my cars over these past 10 years, but I wonder if they have to be a Subaru expert to install the bearings. I guess not necessarily.

Chicago weather is really crazy this year. Last week, it was very cold. Today, it was so hot, I had my AC running the whole time I was driving this afternoon. But I still like Chicago, the weather is never boring. I've lived here for almost 20 years now. Florida is nice too, I'm going there in July for a short visit.

Significant Technical Input
The reason I mentioned the exhaust leaking as a possibility is because it needs to be dismantled to remove the transmission. It's possible that it wasn't replaced properly. It's also possible that it's something else altogether....

You're right, I mentioned that to the Service Manager when I called the dealer. They want me to take the car back and they will check it. But I have decided that it's probably time to replace the bearings also. I just want to make sure that my car is in tip top condition. I will just buy the parts and have them installed somewhere else.

Randy,

If Viv, goes to John, he will do those the way they were meant to be done. I mean bearings. The only thing is he charges 600 for back pair and it's too high IMHO

I see a pattern here.

I hope Johnny is not looking this site. Talk to Craig for the parts downstairs. Mike can not give you as much discount as Craig can. You should be able to get the back bearings for 68 a piece and with everything, it should ran you about 130ish. If craig can not do that, tell him I sent you.

I'm not the one who fits into a size 4 dress...

BTW: SVX's are awesome (to stay on topic)

Doug

Doug, it's size 2 dress. Oh... and I am a boy. I can prove it. Where is my webcam?

well, first of all, let me give you boys a little lesson in dress sizes. first of all...dress sizes run really big. i wear a size 2 in jeans, but an 8 in dress, so Doug, before you start....know... can't blame you, you are only male. thanks for not sayin size 30 or something to that effect. gotta love ya, even if you have faults, you fixed my antenna!

Lwin, i don't know what to say...you don't need the webcam, my computer is littered enough with all that naughty stuff. we all know that you are truely a MAN! please spare us!!!

dear God please spare us
