Tranny pan gasket

Do I put sealer on it or not. The tranny pan is leaking from the stupid plastic cap that is covering a hole in the Impreza tranny we put in. Wondering if this was put there to add a temp sender or what?

I don't think you have to but I put it on mine with no ill effects. P.S. don't overtighten the bolts and make sure to tighten all of them the same amount. If the pan warps the slightest bit it will leak What did the magnet look like in the new trans? Mine looked like a pretty flower
