Turning SVX into Bracket Racer, questions/comments....

Just looking for some insightful info. I am planning on turning one of my SVX's in to a bracket racer. I currently have 2 drag cars, (a 67 Merc Cougar & 71 Vega), but I really want to race one of these SVX's.

My questions, has anyone on here setup their SVX to do this?
Any suggestions on what I should do, or shouldn't do...

I'm pretty much going to gut it as much as possible to remove as much weight as I can, (seats, dash, interior, etc.).

Thanks in advance.

The glass on the SVX ways a considerable amount. Other than stripping the car i would suggest getting the non moving parts of the windows in plexi glass, plexi is your friend.

I'm sure Chris will chime in. He has won a few (national?) awards in bracket racing with his SVX.

Definitely talk to Chris as Bwana said. I have always been a firm believer that AWD/Automatic cars make the best bracket racers. You will always turn repeatable times.

Nothing really needs to be done to keep it consistant.

The car is probably more consistant than the driver

Chris's SVX is basically stock. He's not fast but he's very consistant. If you want to make it quicker then there's lots we have to offer.

Yeah, definitely talk to Chris the site admin. His car is consistent as anything down the strip. I agree with David about the car being more consistent than the driver - in my last outing at the track I ran a 15.32 followed by a 15.33...
