Unhappy Brad penn LSD additive ??

My red car is in Subaru today ..2nd day..with transmission binding problem..my searches show that this product added to the transmission can sort it...but we don't seem to have this in Oz..so what is this product ..is it a std LSD oil, its been called an additive ..is it an oil if so what are its basic specs..how much is required to be added..if I can get a similar product in Oz then we'll try and add it to the transmission..hopefully for the same result
I didn't have the problem before the last flush of the transmission, so perhaps the oil they used wasn't the correct spec

Any help on this would be appreciated

David

Looks like your standard friction modifier. There are a number of products out there just like it.

Exclamation Collin thanks

i'll run this by my Subaru dealer...they are very tentative about this, hopefully we can find a product in Oz that matches this, perhaps the reference to the Ford lubricant type will give them an insight as to what equivalent product we have avail in Oz ..and some comfort as to what they are doing !!

I don't know David and Colin. Anyone that's been exposed to this product would probably agree that this is the STRONGEST smelling petroleum product to personally ever have handled!
Are you certain you could possibly have an "equivalent" in oz?

Question Castrol LSX 90 ??

Collin {SVXer95]
Further to your reply I found a product today [in Oz] as above that is LSD Fluid..it says on the side of it that it can be used in applications that require [among others] Ford ESW - M2C - 119A ..which is what Brad Penn says on its Data sheet ... do you think this Castrol product would have the same effect as Brad Penn..?

Thanks

David

I am no expert on the matter, I just did some searching to find the information...

The LSX 90 looks to be a bit different than the Brad Penn stuff. It is a friction modified gear oil, whereas the Brad Penn is a friction modifying additive. I don't know for sure, but the additives in the Castrol are probably similar to the Brad Penn.

Someone out there has to know better than I, someone want to add their $0.02?

what you want is LSD additive, it will say that on the package
any will work
i used trans-X brand posi-trac and it worked it's synthetic and doesn't smell like the brad penn

also as a note to anyone eco concious the brad penn is apparently whale oil, not petroleum.
