Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
1992 Pearl in Houston,Texas on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subar...48709853QQrdZ1 - Ebay Item number: 330148709853

I had my boyfriend test drive this car for me while he was there in town and he told me the SVX is not in the good shape it appears to be in the photos. It's being sold by a small car dealership.
He told me that they had to jump start the car when he wanted to take it for a test drive. Once driving it, he wasn't sure how long it was going to run as it ran really rough and the transmission took a really long time to change gears.. overall felt really iffy (it has its orig. tranny - no external cooler - so I'm sure it is on its way out). He also heard some grinding noise from the rear (wheel bearings, maybe?) and the steering wheel had a lot of play (it required a lot of turning to actually turn the wheels - I am not sure what that is a symptom of). He ended up not test driving it for long because he wasn't sure he was going to be able to make it back to the dealership. Electronic controls for the driver seat no longer work. The control to move the side view mirrors no longer works. The interior has wear and the dents are rusted. On the plus side.. the car does run and the pictures are pretty.
My boyfriend didn't inspect the car further after the drive because he was just getting alarm sounds in his head and wanted to get away. He felt like the seller was really trying to pull the wool over his eyes so I just wanted to issue a warning to ask plenty of questions before purchasing this car.
I hate seeing any SVX be homeless but I fear this one may have more problems then someone is expecting (Given the seller claimed the car drives perfectly and is in great shape. That turned out not true.). Sooo be careful when purchasing and definitely test drive before you pay even a dime.

side note: It's just too hot in Texas for an SVX to grow up here and not to have an external cooler! lol

They say that there is "no collision damage," but the side with that fender bump also seems to have a not-quite-straight door frame... hrm...

Fixer-upper indeed...

That's a pretty good Whack for "No Collision".
And it's super obvious that the Driver's door is not seating well for some reason.
Two good scrapes on the right front also. And what's up with those front Calipers?
Yeah, I know, it's easier to be critical. But careful is a good thing.
