Third time's the charm!!!

So...a little over a year ago I bought my first SVX, fullfilling an ambition I'd had since sitting in the high school library eyeballing the spyshots of Subaru's new XT replacement in a Road and Track magazine.

It was not good.

Purchased for a bottom feeder price, it was a bottom feeder car, and about the 117th time it failed to start I decided that fixing it wasn't worth the hassle, and traded it in on a slow sales day for a BMW 7-Series. Which was a good trade.

About three months ago, after blowing up my project Supra, I thought I had purchased another SVX, right up until I went to pick it up and the dealership magically produced several mystery charges, among them, a mandatory $2000 warranty and a retarded interest rate. Sadly, I returned home with only my money in my pocket, and no SVX.

About two weeks ago, I finished up my project 240SX, and sold it, since a harsh-riding, loud, uncomfortable, stripped car wasn't what I was really wanting for my 35 mile commute every day. After a near-miss with another Supra and a brief flirtation with a Saab 9000 Turbo, I happened to spy what looked to be a nice '92 Pearlie (like my first and almost second one - apparently I am destined to own only pearl white SVXen).

I bought it on Tuesday, but didn't take delivery of it until today, because after signing the "No warranty, car sold as is" the owner of the dealership told me the alternator was bad and they wanted to replace it before letting me have the car. Nice of them.

I just drove it home. I really didn't want to believe it was mine until I saw it in my own driveway, given all the hits and misses in the last few months of prospective car ownership. Now that it is, I'm ready to start again, only this time, with a very nice example of the breed. I've managed to not make it to a single SVX meet with an actual SVX in tow - here's hoping that changes very soon.

It was at Dream City Sportscars in Bothell, so if any of you locals went by to look at it, and you thought it wasn't worth the price, please, by all means, keep it to yourself!
