I know this from experience... The EasyStreet ESX car makes over 700 at the crank at full tilt (45psi plus a 200 shot of nitrous) and they're putting the power to the ground through a stock '95 WRX automatic.

If you feel the need to shift it with a clutch, there are several dog or "crash box" gearsets available for Subarus from companies like GimmeGears, Chalak, and Holinger.
Why do you bother arguing with him? he's the same guy who thinks you can get 500hp out of an NA 3.3 liter H6.

Actually, I don't think 500hp out of an NA 3.3liter H6 would be impossible. Very difficult, but not impossible. It would have to have an extremely high compression ratio, a very high redline, and would probably run on C16 or something similar, but I don't doubt it could be done.

Remember, 330hp is only 100hp per liter. 151hp per liter (500hp) is a lofty but not unattainable goal. There are race motors out there making in excess of 180hp/L.

Sorry man, I just have to play the devil's advocate with you.

Okay, but lets go back to the original point: This was somehow in a pace car that was built by subaru. Why would subaru blow over 50 thousand dollar on an H6 engine if they were never going to sell any of the parts that they obviously had to fabricate. ???? They wouldn't. Yes, a 500hp could be done, but it would require a TREMENDOUS amount of money. Like I stated before, even with a Mep of 14, it would have to have a redline of over 10 grand.

Now that I'll absolutely agree with. There's no way the Pace car had 500hp, even with forced induction. There's simply no incentive to build such a car, and if they had they'd have done a lot more with it than drive it around as a pace car. They'd have entered IMSA sports car racing with it or something!

I'm guessing it was probably 300hp, if it was modified at all. It's very possible that it was a mostly stock vehicle.

Thanks Porter,

It is refreshing to have a topic pulled back in line.

You have made the only real worthwhile contribution to what has become a contrived and aimless thread.

REGARDS, Trevor. *<)

Porter: Thank you for finally agreeing with me. Apparently I have to repeat myself multiple times.

Trevor: I have been saying pretty much the exact same thing the ENTIRE TIME. The original topic was about whether or not the SVX pacecar had 500hp, naturally aspirated. I said it was poppycock, and provided adequate reasoning for why such a thing does not exist. Everyone basically agreed, and then NikFu came along and said 'he sees no reason why it doesn't exist, and has no doubt that it does exist'. ACK! >slams head against wall<

I was a passenger in one. Never drove it though. You have to be an employee to drive it.

Sorry it is not 500hp, but the engine was built up by Roush with new internals and no such training center has one and not one training center trains master techs; they all do.

Do you have any other info on this car? HP? Is it NA or forced induction? Do you know the motor mods? 4eat? 5MT? If 5MT, is it STi, or STi RA? Any suspension mods?
