I'm in!

Great. I'll try to get on removing the cams here soon. Let me know when you can't wait any longer, and I'll try to get them out without removing the motor.

and looky what I got today. Here are some pictures of the first set of cams ground...the prototypes if you will. Sorry, not cleaning off the packing grease for pictures--deal with it.

complete set of boxed cams

intake cams

Here's a picture of the base circle of the 1st lobe on the intake cam. This is where the camshaft is thickest. What I'm trying to show in this picture is how the base circle on our cams does not cut into the shaft. This illustrates how our valve set up maximizes lift before coil bind without degrading the strength of the cams.

close up of intake lobes illustrating fillets (radius in castings up to sides of lobes) not cut into.

exhaust cams

exhaust cam 1st lobe showing shaft is not cut into

close up of exhaust lobes illustrating fillets not cut into

So there you go...good, clean, exactly right performance cams with state of the art profiles.

Pictures!

Awesome. Thanks for the pix. It will be great to see how these perform for you. It will also be very interesting to see improvements for the N/A guys as well.

I won't be putting my cams in until I have the rest of the parts to build my engine which will be very far from naturally aspirated. The only NA guy to order the cams so far is OBI who is also changing pistons and who's engine is in a porsche.

The compression ratio on the pistons is 8.5:1? It will be interesting to see if OBI has any performance drop due to the drop in compression. We had a fellow online some time ago from england who said he dropped to 8.5:1 and had no noticeable drop in power. Then again he didn't dyno.

are we going as low as 8.5:1??? I thought it was going to end up closer to 9... lower is better for more boost Mike... have any idea where our rods and pistons are?? I would love to get my bottom end put together so the people who want me to build theirs can get their costs figured out

Tom

Im using the pistons so that when i get tired of running n/a ill go turbo. its gonna be a while. I think running n/a using mikes cams ill probably have traction problems.
