Got some things done today... (pictures inside)

Well howdy do everyone. Decided to go put my new air filter on today and check out a few other things on the car that I hadn't inspected yet.

Put my summer wheels back on last week but hadn't yet re-checked the torque on the lugs or rechecked the air pressure.

Ahh, nice... 90 ft./lbs is what I usually go with on passenger cars. Then I put 40 psi in the front tires and 38 psi in the rear. Sweet.

Next up, time for a new air filter. The autozone special was undersized and getting dirty. New K&N on the left, old on the right...

Location of the old filter...

Shortened this piece a bit to fit the filter in there.

And that was that for easy maintenance stuff so then I went over to the carwash and decided to hose off the beast. Cars, unlike puppies, toddlers, and kittens; LOVE bathtime, so I figured I'd oblige.

ANd it came out nice and clean...

Also, I recently finished my intake (tomsvx style) and got it all painted, so I thought I'd toss in a photo of that as well.

And THAT my friends, is what I did this afternoon. And it was great. The end.

Honestly, it's just odds and ends 3" tubing I had laying around. I just buy the stuff off ebay along with couplers and use it when I decide. Works great!

Any fellow can make a CAI like mine for darn near $50 plus the cost of a filter. It's not rocket science, lol. Just a couple simple bends, some couplers and a filter!

Icky like your FACE! Ohhhhhh burn! Feel the burninator!!

I know they're not everyone's taste. I actually am kinda rim shopping myself, but I love the fact that these are so light, and IMO they look very nice. One I'm thinking about though is the TSW Snetterton. Something 17" or 18" multispoke with a nice lip anyway. That's just the one that comes to mind though.

I too am a bit unhapy with the placement of the tips. I had a shop do them and I think I'll probably chop them and splice it back a bit myself. I was thinking more "flush" with the angle of the bumper would look sweet.

But I like the tips though, and it looks and sounds great, IMO.

you might want to drop back a couple of lbs. on the lug nut torque. fsm 72-86 lbs.

FACTORY service manual, yes that says it all. With a factory lug nug, I normally go 80 ft./lbs. but with an acorn style nut like the ones I have on, I usually like to go a few pounds higher, since they don't have quite the surface area that the flat factory nut does. Thanks for being watchful though.

And Kwren, go HERE to see the snetterton. I'm not saying it's exactly the one I want, but if I found a deal on a set, I'd be hard pressed to pass it up.
