Think we should start welding up an R&D exhaust with "blind legs"?
Did you catch the "...single most effective way to increase the Subaru horsepower output..." comment in the article?
I've got to read the article a couple more times - I'm still wrestling with the tuning for sea level and tuning for 8-12k feet of altitude info presented (as I really don't have any desire to yank the engine out of my car and put it into a plane )

-Bill (ready to weld up an R&D "chamber/muffler", just waiting for the signal....)
The blind leg tuning is pretty interesting. Yeah, I saw that note about the "single moste effective way". When are you going to pull the heads? :-)))) Maybe you could get a set of used heads, mod them, and then do a swap.

Yup Bill, I'm out in the great northwest visiting family and marveling at all the Subarus on the roads out here. My skewed view of the automotive world is based on my daily drives in and around Detroit where imports are still the minority and Subarus are relatively rare.

I wish I had money/time/know-how to do all this stuff myself. All this experimenting, trial/error, and theoretical computations sounds fun.

I guess that's why im in engineering school...

I need some hands on experience working on our cars though. I dont trust myself to do anything with the car.

Anyone want to take on an apprentice?
