Re: 92's hit 160???

Hi guys,

the stock 1992 SVX european edition can reach 280kph / 170 mph . 2 years ago , when i had the stock auto transmission in it, i drove 270 kph on the Autobahn. But i have to say, that the european automatic transmission looks different to the US ones. Different wiring and different shape.

Greetings

u cant compare a fwd car with an awd car... its like comparing tomatos and oranges.... let me see u spin two wheels at the same time then let me see u spin 4 wheels at the same time... 4 wheels is alot hard to do then 2

Re: 92's hit 160???

Geez, this debate has been going on since 1992! Show me a certified timed run certificate of a US spec stock SVX with a top speed in excess of 150 miles per hour. I have never seen a certified speed in excess of 150, although one auto magazine once claimed their equipment showed a slightly higher speed. I have heard dozens of stories, mostly from memory of those driving at the time, some from pictures of a speedometer - NONE from a certified source that a SVX has hit 160, 170 mph. In the SVX's initial timed runs it is listed as having a top speed of 144 mph. I think that is about right and I doubt that many of today's stock SVXs could come anywhere near that mark.

With good tires and enough tarmac I think 150+ is possible...
