"My friend's dad's girlfriend's dad, had an 80s Porsche, was pretty nice, low miles, garage kept.. Anyway, his kid was out driving it, got pulled over. Cop sees a bag of pot on the dash, yanks him out of the car, handcuffs him, and then him and another cop rip all the interior out, cut open the seats, etc.. looking for "hidden drugs". Of course, they didn't find any. Left the car all apart and said "well, it's your problem now" basically, and left, and said he was responsible for paying to put it back together."

That was me, minus drugs, a few years ago (like 8 yrs ago). Had my 240Z TRASHED and SLASHED at a speed stop. (30+ year old car parts are not cheap) There was a Z32TT, another Z32TT, A4, my 240, and a VR4 all pulled over for going about 10 over. I was 'going w/ the flow' as was thought in drivers ed, but was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Almost worst part of the story is that I was only one street from home.
Car impounded ($175) and spent the night in jail for 'being suspect', whatever that is. Try and make that go over well w/ your boss after missing work w/o a call because you were locked and the pay phone was out of order. Like I had any coins since I was stripped naked on camera anyway. It is in the past now and I am no longer pissed by it, but it does serve as a reference point for any future events.
Life is what you make of it does not apply in regards to the militant police.

Other story: I did get off once for a noise violation due to the fact that the cops (3 cars) were impressed w/ the install of the audio in the trunk. Had it appraised at 21K by the insurance company. But that was back when I was a MECP.
