There's one for sale over on the NASIOC (former I-club site) right now. $6000 complete with matching rear diff and shifter/clutch/flywheel.

These won't be cheap and you'll have to battle a bunch of Impreza owners to get one. I just got my WRX trans this weekend and get the STi lightweight flywheel/clutch tomorrow.

<00 hp on 4 cyl 2.5 liter? I take it the engine will be loud and obnoxious? Looks like they got the extra hp by elliminating some weight. >>

How do you get more horsepower by losing weight? HP comes from the engine regardless of the weight of the car. As for price I hear $35,000

Dono but it should be worth it. This is real STI stuff, Subaru's really bringing it on now. The price should stay under 30k if they still want to keep it competitive, most people would probably just as well buy SRT4 for 20k, who knows what the hell an STI is anyway?

My friend owns a performance shop, and since the realse of the WRX i have become some kind of god to the honda boys. They seem to think subaru's have some sort of magic powers. They all go home and watch WRC now too, its nice. But just as long as tehy dont put their honda parts on them i will be ok with it. It seems to be going good and clean so far, and i love it that our brand is now getting some recignition. The realese of this STi will do worlds of wonder for subaru, it really shows American buyers that they are for real

i don't think the SRT4 will stand any chance against a subaru of this caliber. I mean the existing wrx is sorta in comparison but it still is a much better buy, this new sti puts the wrx sti into a higher bracket all together....dare i say porshes and acura nsx's?!?!?!

It's not worth making those kind of comparisons.

I don't know what the SRT4 will cost, but I guarantee that it's in a different bracket than the STi.

And comparing the STi to a Porsche or NSX is also inappropriate. They're entirely different cars in entirely different markets and price brackets.

the new sti looks impressive

its a toss up with me i am still a huge fan of mitsubishi and subaru

they both have around the same hp and same features and price range

im leaning towards the evo due to the tried and proven 4g63 wich has been mitsu bread and butter for 10 years runing. and the after market is a lot cheaper and easier to work on then a wrx sti.

but again i love subarus =>

It is a Neon with a 2.4 liter 4 with 205 hp. Base price of under $20,000 and a 0-60 of under 6 seconds. Looks a lot better than previous Neons, too. Nice to have domestic 4 banger front drivers to compete with the import ones... and at a better price. I'd still rather have the STi, or even better... a manual twin turbo SVX with over 300 hp (it would just be som much more unique). This STi looks pretty cool, but the headlights and taillights are still gross. I wish they looked more like the old style.

300 hp & torque... I thought they couldn't produce the Japanese cars with more than around 280 or so. Will this one just not be the same in Japan?

Dear Andy,

Nice to hear from you.

There are no plans for a European version of the 2.5 litre Imprexa STi.

Don't forget that with the optional Performance Pack, our STi gives 305 PS and similar torque to the US car - and probably much better fuel economy.

Best Regards,
